It keeps the vehicle's original cab (Fiat, Ford, Citroën…) and adds an aerodynamic living cell on top, with no bed protruding over the cab. It is the best-selling type in Spain because it balances interior space with easy driving.
An A-class replaces the whole cab with its own bodywork: more space, light and insulation, but wider, pricier and bulkier to drive. A low-profile keeps the factory cab, costs less and drives like a large van.
An overcab adds a fixed bed above the cab, so it sleeps more people (up to 6-7) in exchange for extra height and slightly higher fuel use. If you travel as two or three, a low-profile usually makes more sense.
